Ortwin Lüers

Instructor · Germany

Dr. Ortwin Lüers is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in Berlin. His fascination with the Eastern martial arts, meditation, and Buddhism began in his youth, and he has devoted himself to the intensive study and practice of Buddhism since the 1980s.

In 1985 he first encountered the inner styles of the Southern Shaolin tradition — Wu Chi Chuan, Nei Gong, and Qi Gong — through a Western student of Grandmaster Chee Kim Thong. In 1989 he met Grandmaster Chee in person and was granted discipleship, and until the Grandmaster's passing in 2001 he trained under his direct, personal guidance, alongside a small group of German and Swiss practitioners in intensive camps.

He is a co-founder and the second chairman of the association Shaolin Wu-Chi-Chuan & Wu-Chu e.V. in Germany. With more than thirty years of practice and teaching in Wu Chi Chuan and Qi Gong, he has developed his own approaches to illuminating the forms, their meanings, and their benefits, making them accessible to all who wish to learn.
